Jan-27-20  hkannan2000: Does not 20 Q*b4 win the Bishop outright as it is pinned against the Black Q?

fredthebear: Our analytical questions should include "Is this move safe? How can this unit be threatened (aimed at) on it's new square? Can this move be pinned/skewered? Where are the other pins/skewers on the board?" (One long range piece [bishops, rooks, queens] aims at/through two opposing units on the same line.)

20.Qxb4 Bf8 (pin) returns fire, outnumbering: 2 Black attackers vs. 1 White defender. Where there is one attacker vs. one defender, try to add another attacker to outnumber the defense. This is especially useful when the defender is a king or queen; royalty makes a poor defender, for it must flee from a fight.
