offramp: I watched this game as it rapidly unfolded live on the internet.

By move 11 Black has two bishops v 2 knights.

I wonder if that is a record.

Black also has lots of play. There are future plans involving ...Rc8, ...Rg8, ...h5, ...Qb6, among others.

Duda has one plan, one BIG plan. To stop Black castling.
11....Rc8
12. Qd3 Qb6
13. Nge2.

Here I was expecting 13...Bg7.
13...Qa6
14. Qf3 h5

15. O-O Bg4

17. Nd4! f5

20. Nf5.

It looks pretty desperate.
20...Rd8?
21. Rfe1 f3
22. Ng7+ 1-0

It is mate next move.

That looked all cut and dried.

However, Stockfish 10 finds a very clever defence right at the last knockings, after 20.Nf5.

Black to play.
If you spot it within 3 minutes award yourself 10 points.

Jan-01-19  ChessHigherCat: 21. Rc6! (otherwise gawaing, gawaing, gawaan, as they say in Brooklyn) pins the d-pawn and if Nd6+??? Rxd6. I have awarded myself 10 points and filmed the entire award ceremony as a selfie.

offramp: <ChessHigherCat> that was very quick. Happy new year!
Jan-01-19  catlover: Nice puzzle, <offramp>.
Jan-01-19  wtpy: I saw Rc6 quickly as well. If I wasn't altered to the possibility and playing a blitz game, I might not have seen it.

If Duda ever played Lawrence Day the pun could be Camptown Races refrain: (Oh Duda Day.)
