An Englishman: Good Evening: Sound or unsound, it can't be fun to defend one of Carlsen's piece sacrifices during a speed chess game. The opening is also rather interesting, as White refuses to play Nf3 just for the sake of making a developing move, and indeed finds a better alternate square with 9.Nge2, avoiding ...Bg4 in reply.

naresb: I am a club level player, so won't speak on opening line & it's variations, instead would like to focus on the game for middlegame.

After 15. Nd5 Black was needed to defend his dark squares near Kingside. I would have thought of Nb8-Be6-Nbd7-c6-Qc7-Rad8 king of defensive arrangement.

Considering opponent's plans, I know it's difficult to defend King side pawn attack but that's what the need of the position.

In response Black could have made more efforts towards counter-attack & simplifications rather than simple relocation & restrictive measures.
