Dec-25-20  siggemannen: I don't get 16...Qxf6. Did black have to win to go through?

fredthebear: It seems that Black wanted to avoid 16...gxBf6, exposing the Black king to check(s) by the White queen. At first glance, 16...QxBf6 might appear to be the safer path in armageddon time control. Or, Black did not realize that 17.NxBd7 was a fork that threatened to win the exchange (a capture that can continue to capture).

Jul-07-21  AlexPomor: 6...Nh5, and black wins (Botwinnik's plan against Change System). For example, 7. Ne5 Nxf4 8.ef 0-0, then c6, Na6-c7, f6, Bd6 and e6-e5.
