Jun-26-21  qqdos: <FSR> At first glance, I couldn't imagine what had possessed Karjakin to play 16.c3? - clearly inferior to 16.Bd3 - until I came across a 'throwaway' comment by Grigory Bogdanovich in his 2009 book on this (B29) system: "Safe but harmless is 16.c3 Bxd6; 17.Kc2." I think Mamedyarov ably demonstrated just how to inflict harm!

  Williebob: How bad would 21. Bc6 be? I?m wondering if there?s a way to follow through with trapping Black?s DSB; 21? Rb8 22. Rh1 ??

Williebob: I sure hope CG can fix these HTML issues, it?s really distracting to see question marks attached to possibly OK moves!

Williebob: Upon closer inspection it looks like 21. Bc6 Ba6 might be worse for White.
