Aug-17-24  goodevans: A Q for 3 minors always makes for an interesting imbalance. I think most times I'd rather be on the side with numerical superiority.

White was definitely on the rack when he resigned but there was still some play left in the position. It might have been worth continuing a few moves more. For instance, one interesting continuation could have been <39.Qxc3 Ne2 40.Qc8+ Kh7 41.Re1 Nf4 42.Rxe5 Rxe5 43.Qxd7 g3! 44.Qe7>:

It looks like White's got everything covered but the reality is that after <44...Re6> and <45...Kg6> Black would be free to capture on e7 so White is indeed lost.
