Oct-10-21  Ifanivan: A rare zugzwang position in middlegame
Oct-10-21  sudoplatov: Nimzovich did it quicker. Of course, it's much harder to bind up an opponent in an open position.

Oct-12-21  Ulhumbrus: Instead of 18...exd4 Black would like to hold on to the centre by 18...Ng6 but then after 19 dxe5 dxe5 20 Qxd8+ Rxd8 21 Nc2! discovers a skewer on Black's bishops.

It turns out that Black's queen's rook is overworked: If it has to defend the black queen it cannot then cover the exposed bishops on the a file as well.

Prior to this Black has in fact two other overworked men in the position as well.

After 18...Ng6 19 dxe5 Black's d pawn is overworked: If it has to defend the e pawn it cannot then obstruct the d file against the potential threat of Qxd8+

After 18...Ng6 19 dxe5 dxe5 20 Qxd8+ Black's king is overworked. If he has to defend the f7 pawn he cannot then recapture on d8 as well.

Because Black's d6 pawn and Black's king on e8 are overworked Black's queen's rook on a8 becomes overworked as well.

Thus it comes about that because Black has three men overworked, the potentially exposed bishops on the flank a file compel Black to give up the centre.
