FSR: 5...Bb4+! was the correct response to White's gambit, when Black is fine. His 5...Nf6? left him in extremis after 6.Qb3!, but he managed to hold on to draw his grandmaster opponent. 6...Qe7? 7.O-O 1-0! was Mamedyarov vs Kasparov, 2021, but Black played on in M Rakic Vulicevic vs A Benderac, 2009, and even won in 102 moves!

  Sally Simpson: <Hi FSR>

5...Bb4+ yes. But I'd be up for a touch of the Old Cracked Crow and play 6. Kf1 in an OTB game. I could see some good OTB ideas when it was tried in F Jenei vs G Szilagyi, 1955 I'd be playing g4 and h4 early doors. Might win, might lose but I would have been on the dance floor and I'd come away happy with either result.

I did try the Cracow variation after seeing the attack Marshall got with it, Marshall vs Burn, 1905 but 7...d5 somewhat spoiled the party. I did not even have time to put on my dancing shoes in that one.
