Sally Simpson: Nigel, who freely admitted he was busted in this game played 27...Bf7 and Lorenzo's mobile which was in a rucksack under his chair went off. 0-1.
Jan-21-22  BareKing: You forgot to mention that Lorenzo is a 14 year old boy, approx 2000 elo rating... could have been the upset of the year, what a pity for him :)

  Sally Simpson: Hi Miss S.

I do not have editing power to add things in the game info bar. I submitted it so I could be first to post else others would cruise along wondering why White resigned.

(I forgot)

Jan-21-22  BareKing: No shame on you Sally, just adding infos... this unfortunate event gained attention on national press in Italy, so you did a good job tracking it asap! Have a good day!

  Sally Simpson: Hi BareKing,

It's fine. I knew he was a youngster but not sure of the age. Nigel tweeted saying his opponent's grade was 1966 adding that was a year no Englishman could forget.

I was 15 in 1966. (Nigel was one year old). What happened in 1966?

Petrosian defended his title v Spassky in '66 but why that is so important.

It must Harry Golombek getting his OBE for Services To Chess in 1966. That's it! I remember now. How could I forget.
We all had a day off school and given Harry G. commemorative mugs.

Around about then Angela Trimble changed her name to Debbie Harry (Blondie) in his honour.

Jan-22-22  Granny O Doul: 1966 was the last year England won the World Cup. I understand it's something like the battle of Hastings for sports.
