May-24-25  mel gibson: I got the first ply correct.

Stockfish 17 says:

13. Ncxd5

(13. Ncxd5 (1.Ncxd5 exd5 2.Nxd5 h5 3.Bxc6 Bxc6 4.Nxe7 hxg4 5.Nxc6 Rg8 6.Rh7 Nf8 7.Rh4 Ne6 8.d5 Nd8 9.Nd4 Rc8 10.Nb5 Kf8 11.Rxg4 a6 12.Nc3 Rh8 13.Ne4 c6 14.d6 Ne6 ) +4.59/45 301)

score for White +4.59 depth 45.

May-24-25  King.Arthur.Brazil: The king though that W must retain B♔ on the center, which leads to 13. N{3)xd5 because if refuse: 14. Nxe6 fxe6 15. Qxe6+ Kf8 16. Rd3 and W attack seems promissing.

After 13. Ncxd5 exd5 14. Nxd5 Qd8 15. e6 Nf6 16. Nxf6+ Qxf6 17. d5 O-O 18. Bxc6 Bxc6 19. exf7+ Rxf7 20. dxc6 Qxf2 21. Qe6 Qxg2 22. Rxh7 Kxh7 23. Qxf7+ Kh6 24. Qxc7... seems W still has good perspectives.

An Englishman: Good Evening: Flubbed both Sundays, ending a nice little winning streak for me. Would have seen this one OTB in a game, but probably would have eschewed the move because of not seeing White's 15th move (and was Black's reply really the best defense?!).

May-26-25  Andrew Chapman: I don't yet understand what 15. Qf4 does. 15.e6 seems natural and white is still +4, but Qf4 is better according to an engine.

I also went with e6 directly, but after seeing engine analysis, it looks like it prepares Qf4 and Rhe1 to pack more punch into e6. e6 after Qf4 will also attack c7 pawn (hence black played Rc8). Similarly e6 after Re1 would be much more uncomfortable for black.
