LRLeighton: This is an interesting and instructive king and pawn ending. Black missed a win starting with 62...Kc4. The idea is that as black's king is now within the square of the enemy pawn, white will have to move his king to an unfavorable square to stop the black king. For example, 63 g5, Kd6 and now white is forced to play 64 Kf6 to stop the black king, but doing so lines the white king up on the diagonal of black's queening square: 64...a4 65 g6, a3 66 g7, a2 67 g8(Q), a1(Q)+ 68 Kf5 (other moves allow black to skewer the white king to the queen, and then exchange queens), Qe5+ and regardless of where white moves his king, black plays 69...Qe6+ forcing the exchange of queens and leaving black with a won K+P vs. K ending.
