Kibitzer's Corner
Oct-09-23  N0B0DY: From move 62 onwards the notation is flawed.

Here's my best guess: < 62. Rxe3 Nxg5 63. d6 Rd8 64. Nb5 Nf7 65. Nf5 g6 66. Ne7+ Kh7 67. Nc6 Ra8 68. d7 Ra2 69. Re2 > 1-0

Oct-09-23  N0B0DY: Maxim Matlakov outplayed Alexandra Goryachkina in a difficult fight with white. A word to the St. Petersburg grandmaster:

"I think that at one point I had a very dangerous position, it was obvious that all the pieces were somehow "loose" standing, and if Sasha had found some kind of hit, everything could have fallen apart in two moves. I didn't see behind the board, but intuitively it seems that it must have some strong continuation. It was probably logical of me to repeat the moves; playing 23.Ngf1, I realized that it was quite risky, but I couldn't see where I was getting worse.

Probably the critical moment was after 25.Ne3 bxa4 26.Ndxc4 Bb5 27.Na3 Ba6 - I want to go Qd2 and Nd1. Again I intuitively feel that Black should have had a better game, but there are so many continuations and possibilities there.

At some point it seemed that Sasha had lost control, but even after < 30...Rb3 > the position remains unclear. And probably the last important moment is after 39.exf5. Here instead of 39...Qxf5 I liked < 39...Ne7!>

We had a minute left, so I wasted this move. In this variation Black had a simple game, and it's not clear how it would have ended."
