<BARNAVE, BRISSOT, CONDORCET, MIRABEAU, PETION, CLOOTZ, DANTON, MARAT, LA FAYETTE WERE FRENCH, AND FAMOUS PEOPLE, AS WE KNOW AND THERE WERE OTHERS, SCARCE FORGOTTEN YET...>

A good game to be played through very quickly.

Black played an old-fashioned Spanish but he came out of the starter blocks and he hit for the fences. The black ♘♘ raided the white queenside.

20. Qxd3.

Later, White felt obliged to give up the exchange. Bad luck!

34. Rxc5.

Ten moves later the position had sublimated to a ♖+♘ v ♖+♖.
By move 90 Black was really making progress. Were they both playing on fumes?

90...Rg2.

They swapped rooks; the ending now ♗ v ♖+♙.

96...Rd2. That is probably drawn, despite the material imbalance. The white king is in the right place.

At the very end of this interesting game....

White faltered. 129 YES 128 Bf8? The only move was 129. Bb4, covering c3 (to prevent ...Kc3).

Black reached a well-known finale.
