offramp: Here is a good opening: The Siesta Variation (5...f5), which is like the Schliemann (3...f5). That genre includes the Zaitsev. Very pugnacious!

This game was really good all the way through. What a great pair of players!

Here I thought White was absolutely ready to deliver a checkmate in three (or four):

56. Rc8!, with the killing 57. Rh8+. But White missed it.
White played 56. Rb5?
Black replied 56...g6. I thought, "that ♙ on g6 is totally finished...it can't last long".

20 moves later, White played 76. f5. Black replied 76...gxf5.

White could have played either 77. ♔ or ♖x f5!
So the g-pawn lives! As an f-pawn!!

Much later, we have reached a crucial position.

I believe that this is a draw owing to the white rook checking the black king over and over.
But White had a punt with a gamble: he played 92. h4. He loses very quickly.

GG!!
