NewspaperChessArchiv: This submission comes from Evening Star, Chess, Washington, DC, May 25, 1913

No description is given in regard to its origin, but N. T. Whitaker is discussed prior to the score, including the city's correspondence chess tourney. Yokahama, may refer to "Yokahama, Japan." The story behind it remains unclear.

jnpope: Look at the chess column of the Washington <Evening Star>, May 18, 1913, Part 5, p4.

This was the round 2 game played between Whitaker (Georgetown University) and Yokahama (Johns Hopkins University). The round 1 game is given in the May 18th column.

  jnpope: Yokahama

Unclear which Americanized version of his name is correct. Press reports regarding his 1916 speaking engagements give Yok<a>hama as do the chess reports given in the <Evening Star>. I think I see him in the photograph of the graduating class of 1915. I'm attempting to track down a list of graduates from Johns Hopkins for 1915 to see how he is listed.
