Possibly 28...Rf8 or 28...Ng5 which opens the door on possible Qd2 and Nf3+ ideas.
There is also the risky looking 28...Qxa2 but I do not like 29.Qe5 pinning the g7 Rook and there is a potential Qb8+ lurking. No, I'd stay on the Dragon diagonal.

It would appear Black got distracted by something then remembered his clock and banged out 28...Reg8 but it was too late.
28...Reg8 was an obvious move and would have met an instant 29.g3. Perhaps Black was looking for a move where White had no automatic reply and drifted looking 3-4 moves ahead.
