The Rinus Scholarship gives free premium Chessgames memberships to people
who contribute their efforts to the Chessgames Challenge. The donated
memberships will be awarded to deserving users by the scholarship managers.
The proceeds from donations to the Rinus Scholarship will be placed in
a special fund designated to hire grandmasters for upcoming
Chessgames Challenges.
The Rinus Scholarship is named in memory of the Chessgames member
rinus who passed away in
August of 2008. Rinus was the first recipient of this award, and
remains a shining inspiration to the World Team.
