Feb-24-12 | | cro777: Ing Leonardo Ljubièiæ is Croatia's International Correspondence Chess Grandmaster. He is one of the newest (2011) Grandmaster title holders. I'm expecting him in the final of the 28th World Championship. He was clear first in his group of candidates tournaments for the World Championship 28. At the moment CGM Ljubièiæ is taking part at the Walter Muir Memorial Invitational, a correspondence chess tournament in memory of legendary ICCF IM Walter Muir (the tournament got underway on 15 February, 2012). Walter Muir (1905-2000), recognized as the "Dean of American Correspondence Chess", was the most influential person in the development of correspondence chess in the United States. He was a cofounder of ICCF-US. Muir led American players into the international arena. |

May-09-13 | | cro777: Ljubicic is a finalist of the upcoming 28th World Championship in correspondence chess (a 17 players round robin will start on June, 10th). This is for the first time that Croatia is represented by two players in a world championship final: International Correspondence Chess Grand Masters Ing Leonardo Ljubièiæ and Davor Kriviæ. Ljubicic is also participating in Top players section of the ongoing Witold Bielecki Memorial, the 3rd strongest tournament in ICCF history. |
