AGASTYA KALRA
(born 1998) India (federation/nationality Canada)

[what is this?]
Agastya Kalra was born in India in 1998. According to his father, Sanjiv Kalra, Agastya was introduced to chess by his grandparents back in India before moving to Nepean, Ontario when he was four. He believes that the encouragement from his family and his coach is what has kept him glued to chess. Agastya placed first in the under-1800 section at the Eastern Ontario Chess Association's 2009 Spring Open. He also placed 7th-14th in the 6th World School U-13 Chess Championship, scoring 5.5/9 in 2010. He finished with 4.5/9 at the 2011 WYCC U-14 category in Brazil.
