DEZHENG KONG
(born 1999) Canada

[what is this?]
In 2011, he scored 6/9 in the Pan-am U-12 Youth championship to tie for 10th-15th in Colombia.

Dezheng's first foray into a FIDE rated event was the Canadian Open in July 2009, where at the age of 9 or 10 he scored three draws against opponents rated above 2100 scoring 5/9 for the tournament. Later that year, he contested the World U10 Championship in Turkey, scoring 6.5/11. In April 2010, he entered the 4th Annual Grand Pacific Open scoring 4/6. These tournaments and his participation during 2010 in the 25th Annual Keres Memorial in Vancouver, and the Washington Open in Redmond, Washington, prepared him for the 2010 Canadian Open in Toronto where his 6/9 added nearly 60 ELO to his rating; here he also defeated FM Vladimir Pechenkin, the first time he defeated a titled master. At the 5th Annual Grand Pacific Open held in British Columbia in April 2011, Kong scored 4/6 and scored a draw against GM Igors Rausis. The following month, also in British Columbia, Parker played in the 36th Annual Paul Keres memorial and scored 4.5/7 adding 29 ELO points to his rating.
