At the last round of one of the Pan-American Intercollegiate team championships, Ghannoum, representing McGill, won his game against an NYU IM after his teammate Nicolas Arsenault took an early draw in their game. Together subsequently with George Katsenos, the draw and 2 wins for McGill won the final round team pairing, assuring them 2nd place. FIDE Master Ghannoum is also a Doctor.
