Sep-13-10  Nosnibor: The games attributed to P Collier for 2006 muust be those of either S Collier or another P Collier. The games played in 1946 are those of Phillip Edward Collier(1894-1966)He passed away on January 1st 1966 whilst competing in the annual Hastings Tournament.
Sep-02-21  Nosnibor: His father Edward Heath Collier (1858-1928) was a far stronger player and Leicestershire Champion in 1922 some 50 years before me! He tutored and encouraged a young Henry Atkins prior to him attending University.
Jun-14-22  Nosnibor: Phillip Collier was Honorary Secretary of the Leicestershire Chess Club from 1940 until his death on New Years Day 1966. He also won the Leicestershire Championship in 1938 and 1941. During the First World War he served in the Army from 1914 until 1918. By profession he was a Chartered Accountant and took many junior players under his wing.
