  Tabanus: I cannot find him. He's not in the Fort Worth 1952 directory, unless his middle name is skipped there (which is rare). And the name "Dean" did not help.

1953: <Clarence A. Cleere of Fort Worth Saturday night was elected president of the Texas Chess Association. The association meeting was held in conjunction with the opening of the Southwestern Open Chess Tournament. Fort Worth was selected as the 1954 tournament site. Other officers elected include Louis J. Dina and Al Miller, Fort Worth, vice-presidents; Fred Tears, Dallas, finance chairman; Homer Hyde, Waco, membership chairman; <D. B. <Fort Worth, Texas (AP). - W. H. James of Leroy was elected president of the Texas Chess Association here Saturday. He appointed as vice-presidents, Fred Tears of Dallas, Clarence Cleere of Fort Worth, <D. B. Martin of San Marcos>, John R. Payne of San Antonio, Harley Wilbur of Corpus Christi and William A. Bills of Houston. Homer H. Hyde of Waco was named secretary-treasurer.
