Arthur Ashbrook studied at Haverford College, became a Doctor in Economy and later worked for the CIA. His team Durham (W. J. Peters, Dr. G. C. Harwell, S. A. Agnello and Ashbrook) won the 1951 North Carolina Team Championship.

ARTHUR G. ASHBROOK, JR. (Age 90) Of Washingtpn, DC peacefully passed away on April 6, 2011 at Casa Ashbrook. He is survived by his beloved wife, Sassy; daughter Yolie Westerstrom Diego and husband, Dennis of Santa Cruz, CA; daughter Alexandra Ashbrook and husband, Jim Ehrenhaft of Washington, DC; three grandsons, Alex, Ethan, and Caleb. He is also survived by his brother, John Ashbrook of Media, PA and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. A celebration of his life will be held on Monday, April 18, at 5 p.m., at Saint Albans School's Little Sanctuary in Washington, DC. A reception will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Haverford College Annual Fund, 370 Lancaster Avenue, Haverford, PA 19041 or Capital Caring, 2900 Telestar Court, Falls Church, VA 22042.
