Kibitzer's Corner
Oct-19-14  waustad: She and her countrywoman Denise Trippold were adjacent, near the middle in the ratings list for the U16 European Championships that started today in Batumi, Georgia. She wound up playing the top rated player Irina Drogovoz (2257) and succumbed to an attack where her opponent had a dominating knight and open lines for her major pieces. Only the top boards were broadcast so I have no idea how Trippold did, but her opponent was around 500 elo lower rated, so a different result is likely. The joys of Swiss pairings.
