Kibitzer's Corner
Jul-10-14  whiteshark: <Boris Wachsberg> (English transscription is <Vaksberg>); (1919-1943)>.

He was a young Moskowitan chess talent, died during WW II.

He invented an extreme line in the French Winawer with 4. e5 <Bd7>, e.g. 5. Qg4 g6 6. a3 Bxc3+ 7. bxc3 <Ba4> in 1939. --> G Dzagurov vs B Vaksberg, 1939

Stefan Buecker wrote an article (7 pages) about him and his manouvre in his book <Groteske Schacheroeffnungen>.

Jul-12-14  whiteshark: Both players (and a third one) played also a consultation game against young Smyslov et al in 1936 as mentioned here: http://www.chesslibrary.ru/publ/ehn...

Nice work my dear <whiteshark>!

I have accidentally found two new <Boris Vaksberg> games from the Uchitel Club championship in Saratov 1939. Boris finished 2nd behind V. Tarasov, ahead of Konstantinov, R. Nezhmetdinov, A. Ufimtsev, Urshansky and others, scoring 9.5/13
