Kibitzer's Corner
Jul-03-22  hemy: His name is "J. Vilcinskas", not "S. Vilcinskas". Beside the correction slip of the game Jogi-Vilcinskas I submitted correction slip of the initial of Vilcinskas. Both were ignored...

"S. Vilcinskas" is a mistake, taken from the game published in "Šaha Māksla", Nr.25, April 10, 1938, p.103

An article "How Lithuanians fought in Tartu" in newspaper "XX amžius" Apr 2,1938, p.2:
"Lietuvos – Estijos susitikime lošė šios poros. Pirmieji išvardinti turėjo baltuosius. 1-je lentoje P. Vaitonis – P. Keresas, 2-je I. Raudas – R. Arlauskas, 3-je P. Tautvaišas – R. Ulbergas ir ketvirtoje H. Jogi – J. Vilčinskas."

This is a list of sources I received from <chesshistoryinterest>:
(1) This game is also given "Eesti Male", No. 4, 1938, page 57. There Vilcinskas' initial is given as "J".
(2) In the very same issue of "Saha Maksla", on page 99, Vilcinskas' initial is given as "J" !!
(3) It is also given as "J" in "Postimees", 25 March 1938, page 4.
(4) It is also given as "J" in "Paewaleht", 26 March 1938.
(5) In the 1947 Lithuanian Championship, it is given as "J" by (a) The "Margiris" website; (b) The Lithuanian Chess Federation; (c) Bertasius; (d) Lithuanian Wikipedia.

<hemy> sorry for late corrections- I resubmitted them to the editor page and was able to process them now on this page, and on the H Jogi vs J Vilcinskas, 1938 game page now.

Thank you for the corrections!

Jul-04-22  hemy: <JFQ> Thanks for your help. I'm missing the times when we worked together.

Now I'm overwhelmed with the Lithuanian history project. I will update the status of this project on the "Biography bistro".
