Frederick Paul Zerega, born New York, NY USA; died Chicago, IL USA.

Son of pasta maker Antoine (Anthony) Zerega and his wife Louise. (1)(2)

Fred and his two older brothers, John Pierre Zerega and Frank Louis Zerega, were all members of the Brooklyn Heights Chess Club. At least one of six sisters, either Celestine or Christine, was also known to have played chess at the Brooklyn Heights Chess Club. (3)

In 1892 the three sons would carry on the family business and start the "A. Zerega's Sons" company, manufacturing pasta products (4). In July 1900 they would incorporate the business, which would now include agricultural products of every kind, whether in a raw or manufactured state, and various types of merchandise. (5)
