CARROLL CAPPS
(born Nov-27-1917, died Jan-15-1971, 53 years old) United States of America

Carroll Capps was a president of the San Francisco Bay Area Chess League, and won the Northern California and San Francisco chess championships several times. He was a chemical engineer and wrote science fiction under the pseudonyms C. C. MacApp and Carroll J. Clem.

A tournament in his memory is held annually. The 50th Carroll Capps Memorial Championship was held at the Mechanics' Institute Chess Club in San Francisco on November 5, 2022.
