Jan-29-24  Alan McGowan: There were two players named Schmahl; Walter and Paul.

Paul played in the 1942 German championship at Bad Oeynhausen (game v Klaus).

He is named in full on p98 of the 1942 Deutsche Schachzeitung, with P. Schmahl in the crosstable on p99.
