  MissScarlett: I assume <G Gamman> is that given by Blackburne/Graham in <Mr. Blackburne's Games at Chess> but Edochess has an <E Gamman>: http://www.edochess.ca/players/p354...

I haven't checked those references but it appears Gamman (assuming there be only one) was a member of the City of London CC in the late 1860s, and presumably it's where he met Blackburne in friendly combat. The first volume of the <Westminster Papers>, Nov. 1868, p.91, has another Blackburne - Gammon [sic] encounter, albeit shorn of extraneous detail.

The Cardiff link mentioned by <Edochess> is interesting, because a <W F Gamman> served as <Honorary Secretary> for Cardiff CC in the early 1860s.
