Somebody check one of these or another source to determine how Bonford died.

  jnpope: No cause of death is listed in either of those newspapers (or any other that I've searched). The obit of his widow in 1893 doesn't reveal anything either. He had already been discharged from the Confederacy and was a seated Justice. No battles were underway in Alexandria on the date of his death; best guess was death due to natural causes or a brief illness (i.e. https://www.civilwarmed.org/typhoid...)
