FSR: Most likely Morris Pimsler, who apparently later moved to Chicago. The 1940 census showed that he was 35 years old and lived at 4943 N. Whipple in Chicago, Illinois, with his wife, Goldie, and 1-year-old daughter Elaine. I played him many times in the 1970s at the Gompers Park Chess Club in Chicago. https://www.ancestry.com/1940-censu... The Islip Bulletin, March 3, 1966, page 6, contained an obituary for Gisella Pimsler, who was survived by, inter alia, her son Morris Pimsler. https://nyshistoricnewspapers.org/?... Islip is a town on Long Island, New York. M. Pimsler is mentioned on page 348 of the June 1970 issue of Chess Life & Review as having taken the sole draw from Jova Mihajlovic, who won the Gompers Park Chess Club Championship with a score of 9.5 out of 10. https://uscf1-nyc1.aodhosting.com/C... I played Jova Mihajlovic in blitz a few times, once beating him in a blitz tournament that I won with a perfect score (9-0 or 10-0). I became the Gompers Park Chess Club champion myself twice, including winning their last championship (1986) 5-0, including the game F Rhine vs F Lasch, 1986.

FSR: I have heard that he played against Alekhine, though I never thought to verify this fact with him.
