John Charles Henley, Jr., born and died Birmingham, AL USA.

Obituary
Death came today to John Charles Henley Jr., pioneer resident of Birmingham, whose interest in spiritual and educational life here grew with the city. Mr. Henley, who a been in failing health for several years, died in a local hospital at 4 a.m. The son of John Charles Henley and Annie Linn Henley, he was born in Birmingham Oct. 9, 1880. He attended the city's first public school and, at the age of 18, entered Pantops Academy at Charlottesville, Ca., finishing there in 1898. A class of 1902 graduate from Princeton, Mr. Henley frequently wrote articles for the magazines of that period. He represented Princeton in the inter-collegiate chess tournaments. (1)
