From page 158 of the 1906 'Wiener Schachzeitung'

It is mentioned that he died during the escalade of Putilov hill - so I guess that the events of 1904.10.16 belonging to the so called <Battle of Shaho> are meant.

Jun-08-18  whiteshark: <Pavel Nikolaevich> Pervago, according to <UltraCorr2> database.

<mehreren internationalen Korrespondenzturnieren> - several international correspondence tournaments - one was the "Rice Gambit thematic 1903/04" organised (?) by <"corr Le Monde Illustré">

<UltraCorr2> gives <SourceQuality "1">, whatever that means.

Jun-08-18  whiteshark: <Battle of Shaho> https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battl...
