'Frank van Indiƫ'

In Memoriam (bungled translation)

'.. I soon met 'Frank from the Indies'. It is the chess name and the stage name of a good friend of mine, his real name was Frank van Linde or Emar, so the story goes, but that too is not certain.

Frank was born in Indonesia in 1947. In his youth he came to Den Haag to study art [maybe at 'Koninklijke Academie van Beeldende Kunsten/Royal Academy of Art']. After graduating he lived in Groningen and became a Stadjer. Possibly Frank made his first mistake already when he [he left his beloved Grooningen and] moved to Den Haag as an fine artist working (?) in a studio, where he actually was a comedian and an actor who never played cabaret roles (before). His lifestyle and behavior were comedy and cabaret, so he (also) tackled life like this.

That's how he communicated with people, a very good man, a noble soul, very intelligent ..'
