Stonehenge: <He was born Edward Stein on February 3, 1929 in New York. At the age of eight, he and his parents moved to Astrakhan, Russia, in the Soviet Union. He earns a Class I qualification here, followed by the city championships in 1956 and 1958. One year later, in 1959, he moved to Hungary, where he lived until his death. He obtained the master's degree qualification in 1962 and the Hungarian master's degree in 1973. In the meantime, in 1968 and 1972, he made it to the finals of the Budapest Championship, in which he did not play a subordinate role as a master candidate. Having the title of master, he participates in few tournaments, mainly in Budapest. In the countryside he is most often invited to the mixed master competitions in Salgótarján. He was featured in the OB I Team Championships with minor interruptions from 1971 until 1993. He plays first in the colors of the Firefighter Dog, then in the Volán SC. In the eighties, apart from two years in Debrecen, his club was the Budapest Spartacus, where he was a member of the championship team in 1983, 1985 and 1986. In the "Spar" you can get another silver and two bronze medals. He played his last OB I seasons at TUNGSRAM SC in Nagykanizsa between 1991 and 1993.

Eduárd was a teacher and taught at the Ministry of the Interior in Hungary. He was fluent in three languages - Russian, English and Hungarian. Due to his profession, he performed little in individual competitions, mostly only those organized by his clubs. When he retired, he had time to quench his desire for chess, and he was a regular guest at the season opener, the competitions in Balatonberény and Zalakaros.

In the last stages of his life, the attention of a man with a strong but strong physique in his old age was focused on information technology, computer technology and Internet chess.>
