Ron: This database shows that A.B. Arnold played a chess game against Morphy, Steinitz, and Chigorin.

I wonder if there are any other amateur players--or players with a master rating or less--that played the world champion, a challenger to a world champion, and a great chess chess player.

I knew someone who had played Mikhail Tal in a simultaneous exhibition. Thats about it.

Aug-16-20  Nosnibor: <Ron> Between the ages of 16 to 19 I played Gligoric, Botvinnik and Kotov and later Karpov and drew every single game. They were all in simultaneous exhibitions.

Aug-16-20  Nosnibor: <moronovich> <Ron> Many thanks for your comments. The games I have mentioned are set out under the commentary sections of the players stated. There are some pretty good memories especially against Gligoric when only 4 days before I had won the Leicesterhire Under 18 Chess title and also the Botvinnik game when shortly afterwards I became engaged to my wife.
