Oct-25-21  Caissanist: At age 100, Alvarez is still an active and enthusiastic tournament player--the only centenarian tournament player I've ever heard of. His current rating is 1646, but note that his "highest rating acheived in database" of 2160 was when he was 80. Nice article on chess.com: https://www.chess.com/article/view/... .
Oct-25-21  SkySports: <Caissanist> He didn't get to 100, but Francisco Benko played his last tournament when he was almost 98. And his elo was still higher than 2000...
Sep-27-24  SkySports: Mr. Escudero is now almost 103, but he's still playing tournaments!
