Jun-09-09  Xeroxx: Ludwig van?
Jun-09-09  vonKrolock: I recall of reading somewhere that one of Beethoven's distractions, and consolations, in his later years, when he was already completely deaf, was to watch chess games, a silent form of Art, in Vienna - no more details in record (at least nothing in on-line sources...)- maybe he played also! What a sensational discovery, some game by the great Ludwig van!! ***Also notewhorthy, that Philidor's 1749 "Analyse" was found in Leopold Mozart's books collection (He was the father of Wolfgang Amadeus) - Just imagine, if the little genius was also touched by Caïssa's mermaid chant
