Tim Just is best known as a tournament director and organizer. He is the co-editor of "United States Chess Federation's Official Rules of Chess" and the co-author of "Just Law: Common-Sense Answers to Frequently Asked Questions on Chess Rules, Regulations, and Policy from Players, Tournament Directors, and Organizers" and "My Opponent Is Eating a Doughnut: Tall Tales, Legends, Gossip, and Rumors from the World of Tournament Chess."
