Aug-03-11 Janowski vs Ed Lasker, 1924
ChitownChesster: Can anyone tell me why Black's queen stayed put for such a long time in the middle game while his King was traversing the board? It seems Black spent half the game trying to find a safe square for his King. I've never seen a game anything like this. |

Aug-01-11 Keres vs Alekhine, 1937
ChitownChesster: Wow, what a pretty combination! I don't know much about chess history, but what drnooo is alluding to sounds pretty accurate in terms of the "spirit of the times." It was a very turbulent period in history and Keres was probably in an entirely different situation than ... |

Aug-01-11 A Prietz vs V Pupols, 1967

ChitownChesster: This is a pretty crazy game. I guess Black just wanted to see just how much he could get away with. |

Aug-01-11 Chessmaster vs A Montes de Oca, 1998
ChitownChesster: A very interesting game indeed! Seems like Montes is a lot stronger than his rating indicates. |

Jul-01-11 A Butnorius vs B Grachev, 2010

May-10-11 L Shytaj vs Adams, 2010
ChitownChesster: Yeah, you're right, it was a sound move, probably the best he could have played. I completely misunderstood its purpose until taking a close look at the game. My name's Chesster, I live in the attic... |

Feb-11-11 Gelfand vs Leko, 2007
ChitownChesster: This was a beauty. Both sides played well, but Leko was just a tad bit stronger. I need to learn from games like this. |

Feb-11-11 J Klein vs B Marcussi, 1963
ChitownChesster: I was looking at 23. N*f5 g*f5 24. f6 with the threat of 25. Rg7+ followed by mate but the way Klein plays it works better, I guess. Wonder what Crafty would say to this type of blasphemy... |
