   Jun-25-25 M Piper vs D Gunter, 1994

Finnegan63: 17 Rxa4 is an excellent move whose purpose I did not at first see. If, for example instead 17 b4, Black has a winning attack after 17...Ng4 with no defence after 18 hxg4 hxg4 and the queen invades. If 17 Rxa4 Ng4, then White has 18 Bf4 defending the h2 square and if 18...Qxf4 ...

   Jun-09-25 Speelman vs Kharlov, 1995

Finnegan63: A quiet victory. Speelman builds up a little positional pressure by fracturing Kharlov's king's side pawn structure with 17 Bxf6, then Kharlov misses the fork 30 Qe4+ winning a pawn and Speelman converts the ensuing rook and pawn ending a pawn up.

   Apr-04-25 V Malakhatko vs A Aleksandrov, 1997 (replies)

Finnegan63: Presumably a loss on time as White is better here.

Feb-07-25 Gelfand vs Karpov, 1995 (replies)

Finnegan63: I'm very baffled by 26...h5, seemingly to me anyway losing a pawn in one move for nothing.

   Dec-06-22 Spassky vs Timman, 1973

Finnegan63: What I find particularly impressive here is the way Spassky tied Timman down, then opened up a new front with moves 36-46, deflecting the Black King to the queen's side before victoriously pushing the b-pawn.

   Oct-15-21 Vaganian vs Jansa, 1974

Finnegan63: This is a fine example of sustained attacking play by the Armenian, sacking a pawn or two along the way to keep the initiative in unbalanced positions.

   Aug-27-21 J Polgar vs H Ree, 1989 (replies)

Finnegan63: This is one of the best sacrificial attacks against a Sicilian that I've ever seen. She mows through Ree's defence like it isn't there, even though he makes no obvious errors.

   May-10-21 R MacDonald vs W E Napier, 1904

Finnegan63: Considering Napier was one of the best players of his day, he's played some inferior moves here 9 ...Qc8 when it would be better to have the QR on that square and 15 ...Bg4 in particular, just inviting the QR into the attack, look all wrong to me

   Feb-25-21 J Horner vs G H Bennett, 1973

Finnegan63: A superb set of sacrifices at the conclusion of this wins the game.

   Feb-09-21 L Valenzuela Fuentealba vs A Rakotoniaina, 2014

Finnegan63: A tight game for much of this - Black was a tad passive for a Grunfeld and went a little wrong with 26...Nc7 when 26 Nc5 would have given him some counterplay for the pawn.

   Jan-28-21 G Nakhbayeva vs Goryachkina, 2019
   Dec-22-20 S Volkov vs A Shariyazdanov, 1991
   Nov-09-20 Levenfish vs Stahlberg, 1935
May-11-20 Chigorin vs Steinitz, 1892 (replies)
   Dec-08-19 Sadler vs Kudrin, 1988
   Oct-07-19 Smejkal vs U Boensch, 1996
   Sep-24-19 A Kosten vs Suba, 1988
   Sep-20-19 Dreev vs S Ionov, 2007
   Apr-22-19 C Ali Marandi vs T Abrahamyan, 2018
