Dec-05-04 E Terpugov vs Petrosian, 1957
|
Alkaff: Ok guys since I am the first one here who suggested 26... d4 I suggest here 27 Bc4 as reply instead of 27.Qe4 so if 27 Qb4 Bb3 or 27 Qxc4 Ba3 and I think white is saved |

|
Alkaff: weirdoid:
I think 23... Nxf3+ is better than 23... Qxc1 because white can reply with 24 Rxd4 as shown above. But after 23... Nxf3+ 24 kg2 Qxc1 Black will force the line played in the game and there is no chance for 24 Rxd4 |

Alkaff: Nice puzzle! I have solved it after 3-4 Minutes. I tried Nh4+ first but after that I discovered the Rook blocking Idea, and after quick comparing between Qh1+ and Rf1+ I got it! |

Oct-29-04 I Balanel vs A Pytlakowski, 1951
|
Alkaff: Dear Nulfinator:
It threats 24 ...Bxg2+ and then mate
if 25 Kg1 then Bxf3+. So white either play:-
24 Rg1 Nf2# or 24.gXh3 Qg1+ 25.Rxg1 Nf2# or 24 Bxe4 Bxg2+ 25 Kg1 (Bxg2 Qxg2#) Bxe4# or g3 (Best line) giving the exchange to Black as shown in above posts! |
