Oct-28-18 Z Harari vs N Zhukova, 2018
Bunthorne67: Black's 10. ....Nxd4 is unsound.
Instead of 11. Nxd4 White should play 11. Be3! e.g. 11...Nxf3+ 12. Qxf3 d4 13. Qh5+ g6 14. Bxg6+ Kd8 15. Bd2. If 13...Kd8 then 14. Bf4 Be8 15. Qe2. In both cases White is clearly better. |

Aug-05-18 E Alekseev vs O Bykov, 2018
Bunthorne67: 29. Qb3+ followed by 30.b6 are blunders which let black off the hook (29. Qg4+ and White is well on top). Black should reply to 30. b6 with ...Rxb6! meeting 31. Qxb6 with Qa2+ and getting out of trouble with perpetual check. |

Feb-05-18 S Erenburg vs C Yip, 2016
Bunthorne67: Black blunders with 23...Rd8 as both he and White overlook the reply 24. Bxf7+ which gives White a winning advantage. If instead Black plays 23...e6 then he retains the better chances. |

Bunthorne67: 9.Qe2 or 9.d5 might be worth trying by White. |

Dec-06-17 Nakamura vs So, 2017
Bunthorne67: If instead of 17.Bd4 White plays 17.Qd4 then Black has to fight to draw with his pawn minus. Even if the queens come off, with all four rooks on a draw is far from guaranteed. |

Nov-20-17 Ding Liren vs Aronian, 2017
Bunthorne67: In these lines White may be better trying bxc3 to keep the queen on the b-file, pressurising b7. |
