Jan-16-07 Velimirovic vs Szabo, 1976
|
Chess Prodigy: Alright...here's my analysis...and I didn't use fritz 1) Rh1+ Kxh1 Ne3+! f3 Qxf3 (since the knight blocks) King moves Qg2#
2) Rh1+ Kxh1 Ne3+! Qd5+ Nxd5...and that's a wrap
3) Rh1+ Kxh1 Ne3+ King moves Qg2#
so f3 results in mate anyways... |

Mar-23-06 Kasimdzhanov vs J Polgar, 2005
|
Chess Prodigy: I got this one...The idea behind 45.f6!! is if 45...Qxf6 46.Re8+ Kh7 47.Qb1+! (K moves Qg1+!! K moves then take rook; if 47...Qg6, then Rh8+ followed by Rg8+ winning Q), and if 45..Q moves then Re8+ and Re7+ followed by a series of trades that ultimately passes the pawn...4/4 ... |
