Chess Prodigy: <backyard pawn: Being a Saturday puzzle, I expected a wild finish, but this was Wilder!> Nice pun! :-b.

Jan-16-07 Velimirovic vs Szabo, 1976 (replies)

Chess Prodigy: Alright...here's my analysis...and I didn't use fritz 1) Rh1+ Kxh1 Ne3+! f3 Qxf3 (since the knight blocks) King moves Qg2# 2) Rh1+ Kxh1 Ne3+! Qd5+ Nxd5...and that's a wrap 3) Rh1+ Kxh1 Ne3+ King moves Qg2# so f3 results in mate anyways...

   Apr-08-06 Kamsky vs P Wolff, 1991 (replies)

Chess Prodigy: 6/6 this week...Sunday will be unlikely though...but 6/7 is still awesome...Nd4! is quite a treat for white....gg Kamsky!

   Apr-06-06 Tolush vs V Mikenas, 1950 (replies)

Chess Prodigy: 4/4 this week...I did Qxf8+ instead of Qd4+, which is a winning move, but not as winning

   Apr-01-06 Kudrin vs R Douven, 1989 (replies)

Chess Prodigy: Definately April Fool's prank...I had no idea en passant was possible...5/6 for the week though...good thing tomorrow is April 2nd and not April 1st :-)

   Mar-23-06 Kasimdzhanov vs J Polgar, 2005 (replies)

Chess Prodigy: I got this one...The idea behind 45.f6!! is if 45...Qxf6 46.Re8+ Kh7 47.Qb1+! (K moves Qg1+!! K moves then take rook; if 47...Qg6, then Rh8+ followed by Rg8+ winning Q), and if 45..Q moves then Re8+ and Re7+ followed by a series of trades that ultimately passes the pawn...4/4 ...

   Mar-19-06 Kaidanov vs A Wojtkiewicz, 1994 (replies)

Chess Prodigy: Brilliantly played Kaidanov!!

   Jan-17-05 Corus Group A (2005) (replies)

Chess Prodigy: I believe Topalov will win...anyone agree? disagree?
