ChesswizCanada: MissScarlett is correct, I. A. Horowitz used the pun "Burn Fiddles While Marshall Roams" in his "Solitaire Chess" - and as Horowitz owned and edited "Chess Review" from the 30's to the 60's, he may well have used the expression there too.
