   Feb-03-10 H Brechin vs M Young, 2009

ChesterTheJester: Black's position is undoubtedly resignable; White has a mass of winning ideas. axb5 and Be2 and he is material up in a great position, Bxc5 threatening d7+ and a new Queen is possible in many lines, moves like Nxc5 and f5 are potential threats also. Black's position is just

ChesterTheJester: Happy April Fool's everyone!

   Feb-16-09 A Cherniaev vs K McPhillips, 2008 (replies)

ChesterTheJester: When Cherniaev lost to Sam Franklin at the 2008 Surrey Open (500 point difference - Sam has since gone up about 150) he was very gracious - it was therefore a bit of a shock that he'd stoop so low after losing against someone so good!

   Feb-14-09 K McPhillips vs M Lunn, 2009

ChesterTheJester: Kinda embarrassing - losing to a mate after an appallingly misjudged sacrifice! I'm fine after 13.Re8 I think...

   Jan-26-09 A D Green vs V Prosviriakov, 2009 (replies)

ChesterTheJester: Yes Danny we know! Nice one Green - shoulda won best game prize for sure :)

ChesterTheJester: Played him at Hastings this year and drew - lovely man, very engaging analysis.

   Jun-20-08 Boris Baczynskyj (replies)

ChesterTheJester: Boris was a genuinely lovely man, I recieved some training from him in Philadelphia a couple of years ago, and I feel he improved my game a lot. I am very sad not have renewed our acquanitance after such an enjoyable period knowing him. RIP Boris

   Mar-28-08 T Rendle vs K Georgiev, 2005 (replies)

ChesterTheJester: There appear to be no sound aggresive responses to the Birds, particularly if it is played "Dutch-style" a'la Rendle.

   Mar-28-08 J Lee vs Y Zhou, 2007

ChesterTheJester: I think the fact that Jia Shen has been nicknamed "Jack" is more of an issue...

   Mar-27-08 Alexander Cherniaev (replies)

ChesterTheJester: he seems a good guy, and much more gracious in defeat than many other foreign GMs/IMs. Although Steve Giddens comment (above) about the pairings is pretty accurate.
