Dec-02-11 Karpov vs Kasparov, 1985
Crazychess1: This is another example of Kasparov's brilliant home prep. This really isn't about showing Karpov positional play so much as it is simply a fabulous trap. The famous Octopus Knight does leave a lasting impression. . . |

Oct-28-11 Kasparov vs Portisch, 1983
Crazychess1: 21.Bxg7!! is one of my favorites from Kasparov. It really does look like old-time chess. And then to follow it up with something like 22.Ne5 . . . truly elegant. |

Oct-28-11 Anand vs Topalov, 2005

Crazychess1: What a grand draw! I was rooting for Anand the whole time! |

Oct-24-11 Korchnoi vs Karpov, 1978
Crazychess1: Fantastic! As the decades went on, the myth we were taught to accept was that Karpov was the modern day Capablanca, that his endgame wizardry was second to none. I'm not sure if the endgames in this match align with that idea. And here, Korchnoi conducts one of the finest ... |

Sep-30-11 Bronstein vs Ljubojevic, 1973
Crazychess1: Incredibly well played by Bronstein. Ljubo told Bronstein he was "lucky" to find 25. Ke3. . . I think we all were lucky he found it! |

Sep-30-11 Karpov vs Topalov, 1994
Crazychess1: From 11. e3 I think it is clear Karpov is in the mood for something out of the ordinary. Who would have guessed it would include 3 rook sacrifices!! This is an unforgettable game. |

Sep-25-11 Capablanca vs Marshall, 1918
Crazychess1: It's hard not to root for Marshall in this one, not only because of his illustrious opponent, but because of the terrific and surprising attack he unleashes. This one is always a joy to play over, as it provides the very best in attack and counter-attack. Capa's defensive skills |

Sep-25-11 Capablanca vs Tartakower, 1924
Crazychess1: Of all the endings I have ever seen, this has to be the most instructive and entertaining. I think it's worth noting that the very best in history, from Alekhine to Kasparov, have lavished praise on this ending, and deservedly so. A deeply affecting game! |

Sep-25-11 Botvinnik vs Portisch, 1968
Crazychess1: I can still remember the first time I saw 18. Rxf7!! I don't think any move before or since has stunned me more. The game seems to be humming along at an uninteresting pace and then, from out of nowhere, a truly amazing attack unfolds. One of the best ever. |
