May-31-07 L Eperjesi vs B Perenyi, 1980

DP12: For me the line which made me go for it was 29.e6 N:b6 30 e:f7+ Kf7 31. Ng5+ Kf6 32. Ne4+ Kg7 33.Qc3+ Re5 34. a:b6 because at first I was thinking 34 f:e5 but then 34... N:d5 seemed pretty tricky. |

DP12: 18.Bh6 is an amusing possibility maybe. |

Apr-19-07 Khalifman vs Seirawan, 1991
|
DP12: Sorry for the third post, but looking at the position I was just discussing one more time, maybe it is better to play 25.Qh4 instead of 25.Qh3 and then if ...Nf5 26.Rf5 g:f5 and then 27.e6 appears to keep it nice and spicy. Ok this blindfold analysis is exhausting and I give up. |

DP12: It can't be denied that training and chess opportunities in the US are pretty limited. The country is so big and there are so few and also very expensive really strong tournaments. The American prodigies are commoners in Europe, China and India. |

DP12: Zamora and the ICC admins, like JFernandez, must be friends. Also he is ,among US players, famously talented and easily a blitz GM, like some of those famous Moscow blitz husslers. I could see some of those making a run at a DH championship. |

May-05-06 Bronstein vs Spassky, 1958
May-05-06 Kasparov vs N Sharansky, 1996

DP12: This game is absurd and Kasparov could never play like this. It is absolutely horrible. |

May-05-06 Korchnoi vs Karpov, 2005

DP12: Karpov has really beaten up on the old gipper in the 90's and now 2000's |

May-05-06 Topalov vs Kramnik, 1996
|
DP12: Not this game I guess but another even longer game. Some Azmai-Shirov game. The interesting part about that is that in 2005 Van Wely played a novelty on move 27 of that game against Smeets that made the whole line unplayable, including this game I might add. |
